Mother, daughter hurt in car crash

A local woman and her 3-year-old daughter were injured in a one-car crash at 7:20 a.m. Wednesday on Wansack Road, Shenango Township police said.

The girl, Chloe Gelesky, was taken to Children's Hospital, Pittsburgh. A spokeswoman said she was in the intensive care unit.

The mother, Tara Gelesky, 20, was in fair condition at UPMC Horizon, Farrell, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Ms. Gelesky had a Masury address, but might have been staying with relatives in the township, police said.

Assistant Police Chief Ronald Ziglear said the mother was taken into surgery and he was unable to talk to her about what happened.

The car went off the road in front of 109 Wansack and flipped onto its roof in a ravine, he said.
