Blood feud is Monday

Mercer County Chapter of the American Red Cross is holding the second Pittsburgh fans vs. Cleveland fans blood drive in time for the holiday season.

The drive will be from noon to 6 p.m. Monday at The Rosemont Banquet and Conference Center, 200 Sterling Ave., Sharon. The goal is to collect 120 pints of blood, a news release said.

Donors can cast their vote for their favorite sports city -- Pittsburgh or Cleveland -- and there will be prizes, surprises and a pasta dinner provided by The Rosemont.

Donors must be at least 17-years-old, weigh at least 105 pounds and be in generally good health.

Other Red Cross blood drives this week are:

   » 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Mercer County Career Center, Route 58, Mercer.

   » Noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 3325 Morefield Road, Hermitage.

   » 1 to 6 p.m. Friday in Christian Missionary Alliance Church, 63 Conneaut Lake Road, Greenville.

   » 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in St. Stanislaus-Kostka Church, 370 Spruce Ave., Sharon. Eagle Scout community blood drive.

The blood drives are open to the community. To make appointments, call (724) 981-3205.
