A Sharon man police said ran over his ex-wife Sunday in Hermitage was arrested on charges of attempted homicide and aggravated assault.

Hermitage police said Joseph Boulware, Sr., 30, of 100 First Ave., was giving his ex-wife Michelle Boulware of Hermitage a ride to her home in Hermitage around 6:30 p.m. when they began to argue.

Police said Ms. Boulware said she jumped out of Boulware's car on a desolate stretch of Lynnwood Drive about a tenth of a mile west of Freedland Road to get away from her ex-husband. He tried to hit her several times with his car before he succeeded and drove away, police said.

Ms. Boulware was taken to the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System where she was listed in stable condition Sunday evening, according to a nursing supervisor. Police said she had several broken bones.

Sharon police assisted Hermitage and found Boulware's car at his home in Sharon. Boulware was not there, but police later found and arrested him at a Sharon bar at 8:40 p.m. Sunday.

Boulware was taken to the Shenango Valley Lockup and is scheduled to be arraigned before District Justice Henry J. Russo, Hermitage, today, police said.

Hermitage police impounded Boulware's car Sunday night.
