A Farrell man who was arrested July 30 after police said they found crack-cocaine and close to $10,000 at his home pleaded to a charge of possession with intent to deliver last week.
Anthony Crim Jr., 19, of 1131 Hamilton Ave., Farrell, entered a plea Jan. 8 to a charge of an intent to deliver 181 grams of cocaine, according to court reports.
Crim was charged in July by Southwest Mercer County Regional police after they responded at 10:30 p.m. to a burglar alarm drop at Crim's home, police said. When they got to the house they saw a window open and an air conditioner laying on the ground.
Thinking a burglary was in progress, police requested assistance from Sharon police and surrounded the house. Once inside they saw a bag of suspected crack-cocaine and a bag of suspected marijuana on the living room floor, police said. One of the bags contained $9,630. A 9 mm hand gun, jewelry and other items were later seized after a search warrant was issued, police said.
On Jan. 8 Judge Thomas Dobson indicated his inclination to sentence Crim to a 2è- to 5-year sentence with a recommendation for boot camp, after Crim agreed not to pursue any mandatory minimum sentence.
The remaining charges: one count of possession with intent to deliver, two counts of possession and one count of delivery of a controlled substance are nolle prose, or not prosecuting.
Crim also agreed to forfeit the hand gun, cash, jewelry and any other contraband seized during the search.
