Farrell Area School Board has approved a contract with the newly hired business manager that ties his pay raises to those of the teachers.

Michael H. Stabile was hired in December at a salary of $48,000, which continues through June 30. For the next three years, he will get a raise of whatever percentage the teachers receive under collective bargaining.

The district and teachers are negotiating a new contract. Their present one-year deal ends June 30.
