Taste wine, donate money
The American Heart Association will host "Hearts and Spirits," a wine-tasting event to celebrate Mardi Gras, from 7 to 10 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Corinthian.
The locally made wine, provided by Wilhelm Winery in Hadley, will complement an hors d'oeuvres menu of carved roast turkey, New York strip steak, stuffed mushrooms, an array of pastas, vegetables and cheeses, poached salmon, bruschetta and desserts.
The band Backbeat will play.
A live auction will include a gold and onyx men's bracelet from Golden Memories, Sharon; a three-credit Thiel College course for 2003; a ride on a Stat MedEvac helicopter; a strand of pearls from Joden Jewelers, Grove City; and a framed and matted "13th at Augusta" print from The Framing Loft, Hermitage.
Silent auction prizes will include restaurant packages, additional jewelry, entertainment and golf packages, sports memorabilia and household gifts.
Tickets are $35 and can be purchased from any committee member or by calling the American Heart Association office at (724) 983-1055. The ticket price includes the wine and hors d'oeuvres. A cash bar will also be available.
Tables of 10 can be purchased for $350, and tables can be reserved under a corporate or personal name.
