Goldstein's Furniture to open a fourth store

Goldstein's Furniture and Bedding is building a store in Boardman, Ohio.

The 52,000-square-foot store, on Route 224, will be patterned after the company's Hermitage store on North Hermitage Road. A Labor Day opening is planned.

The new store will feature an expanded selection of LaZ-Boy, Broyhill and Sealy products.

In addition to the Hermitage store, Goldstein's -- which currently employs 110 -- has stores in Niles and Canfield, Ohio, and a warehouse in Sharon. A new store was needed because the company had outgrown its Canfield store and there was no room to expand at that location, said Steven Goldstone, president of Goldstein's.

Buying the land and building a store in Boardman was a vision of the late Art Goldstone, Steven's father, who died in June 2002. Goldstone's sister, Wendy Szalay, also works in the business as a furniture buyer.

Founded in 1906, Goldstein's is a fourth-generation business and one of the oldest family operations in the Shenango and Mahoning valleys.
