Outrakis will seek re-election

Sharon Councilwoman Chris Outrakis has announced that she will run for re-election.

Mrs. Outrakis, 79, of 1086 French St. Ext., said she made the decision to run again "after a great deal of soul-searching and discussion with my family."

"I consider it an honor and a privilege to serve as one of the five members of Sharon City Council," Mrs. Outrakis said. "The good citizens of our city should have an opportunity to make choices as to who shall serve in those capacities. I have tried to be faithful in my decisions as a member of council these past 15 years."

Mrs. Outrakis, a Democrat, said she has studied and researched to make decisions about how to cast her vote on issues that come before council.

"Not all have been popular decisions, but I did what I thought was best at the time," she said.

"I look at myself as a senior citizen, a mother, a person who is on a limited income, a taxpayer and one who cares deeply about the present and the future of Sharon."
