Thiel choir
to go on spring tour

The Thiel College Choir will embark on a tour of Midwestern churches Friday through March 14.

Under the direction of Dr. Michael R. Bray, the 48-voice choir will perform in Brooklyn, Ohio; Arlington Heights, Ill; Amery, Wis.; Minneapolis; St. Peter, Minn.; LaCrescent, Minn.; and Madison, Wis.

The tour will conclude with the choir's home performance at 8 p.m. March 14, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Greenville.

Tour program features works by Scarlatti, Gallus, Bach, Byrd and Lutheran composers Christiansen and Jennings, as well as a collection of spirituals, folk songs and hymns.

Kathryn A. Gray, adjunct professor of music at Thiel, will serve as the accompanist during the tour.

Local students participating in the tour are: James Antel, a sophomore history education major from Hermitage; April Clayton, a junior philosophy/psychology major from Greenville; Stephanie Hills, a junior business communication major from Transfer; Brian Miskolitz, a senior business administration major from Hermitage; Nathan Vanderella, a junior psychology major from Greenville; Allen Varner, a junior history major from Greenville; Emily Wiercinski, a sophomore communication major from Sharon; Aaron Williams, a freshman computer science major from Sharon; Taneesha Williams, a sophomore religion major from Farrell; and Kate Zgonc, an senior English major from Greenville.
