'Roadshow' host part
of series

The host of "Antiques Roadshow" concludes the Trumbull Town Hall Celebrity Lecture series a 11 a.m. April 9 in W.D. Packard Music Hall, Warren.

Daniel Elias will discuss the show, how it is produced and give some behind-the-scenes stories.

He is owner of Elias Fine Art in the Allston section of Boston. The gallery represents work of contemporary artists from the United States and abroad.

Elias previously worked in art institutions in Massachusetts. He was gallery manager and curator at Barbara Krakow Gallery and consultant to directors of the Institute of Contemporary Art, both Boston.

He also was a consultant to Harvard University's Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts in Cambridge, Mass.

Elias earned a bachelor's degree in fine arts from Tufts University and a diploma from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.

He and his wife, Karen Keane, a regular appraiser on "Antique Roadshow," live near Boston with their children.

Three appraisers will be available at 8:30 a.m. in the music hall's lobby to appraise items. Those with tickets to Elias' lecture can purchase a $5 ticket to have one item appraised.

Furniture, coins and stamps will not be appraised. Items must be of manageable size.

The lecture will be followed by a luncheon in Avalon Inn and Resort. Lecture ticket holders can attend the luncheon for $12.

Trumbull Town Hall membership is $50 for the Celebrity Series. Individual guest lecture tickets are $25 each. Special rates are available for groups of 15 or more. College and high school students with valid identification can attend the lecture for $5.

Subscriptions for the 2003-2004 series will be available on the day of Elias' lecture. An earlybird membership will be offered at $45 until June 1 for four lectures and one free ticket.

The following lectures, each at 10:30 a.m. in the music hall, are planned for 2003-2004:

   » Oct. 8 -- Frank Abagnale, on whom the film "Catch Me if You Can" was based.

   » Nov. 19 -- Joan Benny, daughter of Jack Benny.

   » March 3 -- Dr. Will Miller, speaker and performer.

   » April 7 -- Ann Blyth, entertainer.
