Charges filed against former Kwik Fill manager

Charges of theft and receiving stolen property have been filed against Michael Duell, 51, of 38 Sherrard Ave., Greenville, said Greenville-West Salem Township Police Chief Tom Strahler.

Duell allegedly stole $5,600 from the Kwik Fill Convenience store at 352 N. Main St., where he was a manager. The store's owner, Robert Frenz Jr. of Frenz Petroleum in New Castle, reported the money missing last Tuesday.

Charges were filed Monday with District Justice William L. Fagley, police said.

A warrant has been issued for Duell's arrest, Fagley's office said. Duell is currently being housed at a mental hospital near Harrisburg, the spokesperson said.

The store has been closed since the incident. Frenz said the company hasn't decided if the store will be closed permanently. He declined to comment on how the theft was discovered.
