NEW CASTLE (AP) -- A 22-year-old man convicted of sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl was charged with similar crimes against a girl who had his baby. In February, Shawn Rainey, of Pulaski Township, was convicted in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court for his involvement with one girl. Rainey was awaiting sentencing when police filed new charges for his alleged involvement with another 14-year-old girl. The latest teen became involved with Rainey around August 2000, according to court documents. The girl told police she frequently spent the night with Rainey and gave birth to a girl in July 2001. The girl and the baby were taken into the custody of children's services and tests indicated Rainey is the baby's father, police said. |
