Greenville Area Leisure Services Association has set June 7 as the official opening of Greenville Memorial Swimming Pool. Regular season hours are 1 to 6 p.m. daily from June 7 through Aug. 17, except from July 7 through Aug. 1, when closing time will be 8 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Half-hour Red Cross swimming lessons are set from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. daily in the pool. Session I is June 9 through 20; Session II, June 23 through July 4; Session III, July 7 through 18; and Session IV, July 21 through Aug. 1. Lifeguarding class is from 6 to 8 p.m. weekdays, June 9 through 26, plus 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 14 and 21. Lessons are free to those with season passes. Those without passes must pay a cost. Lifeguarding class, not included with the pass, has a cost. Season passes can be purchased from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays in Greenville Recreation Center, 45 Alan Ave. The pool is available for rent throughout the summer by local organizations, clubs, groups and private parties.
