Man accused of holding up store remains jailed

A robbery charge was held for court against a Hermitage man who took a taxi to and from a store he allegedly robbed.

District Justice Henry J. Russo, Hermitage, Monday held to court a charge agains Travis B. Morris, 27, of 2069 Revere Drive.

Police said Morris took a taxi April 7 to Dollar General, 1679 N. Hermitage Road, police said. He entered the store at 1:43 p.m., pulled out a handgun and told the clerk to give him all the store's money, police said. She handed over $73, police said.

Morris left the store and got back into the taxi, said police, who stopped the car several minutes later in front of the police station.

After the preliminary hearing Morris was returned to Mercer County Jail on $5,000 bond.
