Meeting set for 4-H leaders, volunteers

All new, current, and potential 4-H volunteers are encouraged to attend "The FAQS of Life in 4-H: Frequently Asked Questions About 4-H Philosophy, Policies, and Guidelines." The session is set for 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Leslie N. Firth Learning Center at Mercer County Cooperative Extension, Route 19, Coolspring Township, 1.5 miles north of Mercer on U.S. Route 19.

The program is critical for all new leaders to attend, and highly recommended for all other leaders to attend. The manual of Very Important Policies of Pennsylvania 4-H, including the most current updates, will be reviewed by extension staff members Janet McDougall, Bob Calvert, Frasier Zahniser, Tim Barnes and Kathi French. Participants will be introduced to the tools, issues and information covered in the VIP manual.

There will be refreshments and a time to get better acquainted with extension staff and other 4-H volunteers.

Anyone wanting to look at some of the newer 4-H projects or visit with staff members about 4-H questions may come at 6:30 p.m.

Call the extension office at (724) 662-3141, ext. 301, to register or mail your name and phone number to "FAQs of Life in 4-H," Box 530, Mercer 16137; or e-mail to mercerext@psu.edu.

Leaders should bring their VIP Manual to the meeting; new leaders will get them at the meeting.
