The hearing for a Mill Creek Township man who was charged with raping a woman at his residence was rescheduled for April 23 before District Justice Ruth M. French because District Justice Lawrence T. Silvis will be out of town. Arthur S. Tarleton of 534 Klein Road, who is being held in Mercer County Jail on $35,000 bond, was charged April 12 by state police with rape, sexual assault and indecent assault. According to the victim, police said, Tarleton had been drinking before he arrived home April 11 and accused her of having affairs while he was away at work. They argued most of the evening, according to the victim, then at about midnight he walked over to the couch where she was lying, made threats and ripped off some of her clothes and assaulted her, police said. Tarleton ignored her pleas to stop, police said. Police said they saw marks on the victim's body the day she reported the assault. |
