Hearing set for man accused of assault

The hearing for a Pine Township man accused of shoving and spitting beer on a woman prior to trying to hit her with his truck is scheduled for April 30 at District Justice Lawrence T. Silvis' court.

David William Palmer, 47, of 1404 E. Gilmore Road, was charged April 6 with simple assault, two counts of harassment and stalking, state police said.

Palmer arrived at a Sandy Lake Township home and after an argument with the victim, he shoved and spit beer he was drinking on her, police said.

When she tried to remove the registration from Palmer's truck, he put it in reverse and tried to hit her, police said. The victim's daughter witnessed the attack, police said.

Palmer also has an outstanding warrant for failure to appear from Butler County Sheriff's Department, police said.
