You might think that someone who has been with an organization for almost 50 years would be able to choose when to step down. But Hermitage School Board members have decided they cannot let Donald R. McKay retire from his position as solicitor on July 1. Instead, the board accepted his retirement resignation effective July 2. As of that day, he will officially have 50 years of service. "He certainly has done great things for our school district and has a love for our school district," said Superintendent Karen A. Ionta. "He certainly will be missed." Mrs. Ionta said the school district is planning a roast in McKay's honor. |
