'Forever Plaid' shows canceled

Theatre-on-The-Loose has canceled its production of "Forever Plaid," which was to be staged Fridays and Saturdays through May 24 at the Vocal Group Hall of Fame and Museum, Sharon.

Director Steve Johnston said the play's musical director left the production last week, crippling final preparations for the show.

The four-member cast had lost two members earlier, but those holes had been filled, one of them by Johnston.

"The most sincere of apologies is extended to those who have already purchased tickets and those who worked so hard to spread the word," Johnston said. "It was not the intention of the cast and crew to come so far and have to cancel, but the loss of such a major figure made it impossible to continue."

People who purchased tickets may call or visit the hall for a refund, or use them for admission to a May 30 party at the hall with music by the Great Pretenders, or May 31 with music by Brass Taxi.

Those who won tickets or received complimentary tickets for the first or second weekends can use them for admission to the May 30 party. People who won tickets or received comps for the third or fourth weekends can use them for admission to the May 31 party.
