Carol Lee Dance Studio of Greenville brought home awards from the 2003 I Love Dance Competition held March 30 in Pittsburgh. More than 100 entries took part in the preliminary dance festival competition.

Carol Lee Reigleman, owner and teacher at the Greenville studio, was presented the excellence in teaching honor for having the most students qualify for the international championship conventions in July in Las Vegas.

The following first-place awards were earned:

   » Solo ballet -- Landis Erwin.

   » Junior duo tap -- Brianna Hovis and Mandy DeTullio.

   » Junior duo lyrical -- Tasha Gruber and Nichole Schneider.

   » Elementary group lyrical -- Katie Ammann, Rachel Best, Mariah King, Dallas Knierman, Alynn Overfield, Shauni Winner, Kaitlin Zoccola and Jazmyne Sasse.

   » Junior group lyrical -- Brianna Hovis, Mandy DeTullio, Kylea Breese, Stephanie McJunkin, Shelby Griswold and Caitlin Marsteller.

   » Junior group jazz -- Tasha Gruber, Stacey Sindlinger, Lexie DeAngelo, Roxann Cusick and Lisa Ross.

   » Senior group lyrical -- Charlene Ende, Shavon Gruber, Stacey Sindlinger, Roxann Cusick, Lisa Ross, Natalie Vanderella and Lexie DeAngelo.

The following second-place award was earned:

   » Junior solo dance and acrobat number -- Shelby Griswold.

The following third-place award was earned:

   » Senior group tap number -- Charlene Ende, Shavon Gruber, Natalie Vanderella and Samantha Clawges.

Carol Lee's 2003 dance recital will be at 7 p.m. May 17 in Passavant Center on the campus of Thiel College, Greenville.

Tickets are available in the studio on Main Street in downtown Greenville, from any dancer or at the door.
