Ex-outlaw biker to sign books

Ron DePriest will conduct a book signing from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 17 in Bible Gift Shoppe, Main Street.

He and his wife, Minnie, also will conduct services May 18 and 19 in Living Word Christian Center, 21 S. Maysville Road, West Salem Township.

The former member of an outlaw motorcycle gang for eight years is the author of a best-selling book, "Loco." He will autograph the re-release of the autobiography.

DePriest was shot eight times and stabbed 17 times during his outlaw days and was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital, according to a news release.

He spent three-and-a-half years in prison and seven months in San Quentin before being fully pardoned by the State of California.

Although he could not read or write by age 26, he now holds a doctor of theology degree from Fuller Theological Seminary.

The first edition of his book sold more than 250,000 copies, and the re-written edition is surpassing expected sales, according to the news release. His new book, "The Generational Blessing -- the True Father's Heart," is expected to be released in spring 2004.
