Motorists traveling through the area of state routes 18 and 60 should soon be able to see better at night. Shenango Township supervisors Monday unanimously agreed to pay half the yearly costs to maintain lights in that area. The cost will be $2,500 a year, Supervisor Larry Robinson said. Township officials asked other communities to chip in for the yearly cost. Hermitage has agreed to pay a portion of the bill, Robinson said. Officials said they are waiting to hear from West Middlesex, Wheatland, Sharon and Farrell. The state will pay to install the lights and will pay for the installation and upkeep of lights at state Route 60 and Interstate 80, Robinson said. Supervisors didn't say when they expect the lights to be installed. |
