of 60-65 percent predicted judge races By Jeff Greenburg Citing a large municipal ballot and number of candidates for the commissioner and judicial races, Mercer County Elections Director James R. Bennington said this week he expects a voter turnout of 60 to 65 percent for Tuesday's primary election. That percentage, he continued, would be fairly typical for this election cycle -- a cycle of municipal races that comprise school boards, borough councils and township supervisors in every nook and cranny of the county. But, Bennington said, it's the races for commissioner and judge, which have attracted a combined 20 candidates, that have most served to whet the voting public's appetite. "I think the turnout should be good," Bennington said. "There's a lot of candidates, a lot of interest and a lot of advertising." |
