safe driving Herald Staff Writer Safe driving instructor Richard D'arcangelo tells his students he didn't just fall off a turnip truck before he began teaching the two-day, seven-hour course. "I've been doing this for five years -- three years with AAA (American Automobile Association.) With AAA, I had to take a 40-hour course and take a one-day course every three years," said the 61-year-old Jefferson Township man. "I always tell them that I couldn't fall of a turnip truck and teach them. I had to be certified." His sense of humor, combined with the 100 years worth of travel and vehicle information provided by the association and a 5 percent vehicle insurance discount for completing the course, is just the ticket for people 55 and older. |
