Three-term incumbent Mercer County Commissioner Olivia Lazor ran on the platform that experience was critical.

It appears her message appealed to voters as she netted nearly 32 percent of the vote to gain one of two Democratic nominations for the fall general election.

Lazor, political newcomer Brian Beader, and Republicans Michele Brooks and George Pokrant emerged victorious in Tuesday's balloting. They will square off in the fall for three four-year terms that pay $51,479 annually.
