Two men are facing charges after they failed to return to Mercer County Jail on time during a work release program last month.

Kyle Lutz, 23, of 7757 Van Ness Road, Hubbard, and John Wilcox, 30, of 325 Columbia St., Apartment 402, Sharon, are charged with escape by the Mercer County Sheriff's Office. They had a preliminary hearing before District Justice Ruth M. French recently, where the charges were held to court, and were taken back to jail after failing to post $15,000 bonds.

According to police, both men were on work release on April 8 when they left the jail to go to work at Champion Molded Plastic in Masury. They failed to return by their deadline of midnight, causing police to begin a search.
