A Hempfield Township couple can either pay their disputed water bill or take Greenville Municipal Authority to court.

The authority's board voted to turn the bill over to its staff after a one-sided hearing behind closed doors Tuesday.

That could mean that Matt and Cindy Blaschak, 45 Bentley Ave. -- who have already received a couple of shut-off notices over the bill -- will likely get another.

The Blaschaks requested the hearing on a $496 water bill they say can't be correct but their lawyer called Tuesday to cancel the hearing. The authority went ahead with the proceeding anyway.
