Pump stations to cost more than $1 million

Building new pump stations at Golden Run and Sample Road will cost more than $1 million, according to bids for the work opened Friday by Hermitage Municipal Authority.

The highest combined bid for a contract for general construction and mechanical and electrical work came from Conti Corp., Lowellville, Ohio, for $1,175,553, and the lowest was $1,106,000, from Pipeline Systems Inc., Meadville.

The highest bid for general construction was $1,133,016, from Glenn Johnston, McKeesport, Pa., and the lowest came from Basic Services Inc., Zelienople, Pa., for $907,000.
