Consolidation proponents and opponents got a bit more ammunition for their respective sides Thursday at the Shenango Valley Intergovernmental Study Committee meeting.

Approved by the full committee at its gathering in Case Avenue Elementary School, Sharon, were recommendations in detailed reports submitted by the Police Subcommittee and the Government Structure and Legal Issues Subcommittee.

Presenting those reports were the subcommittee chairmen: Gary Hinkson, Hermitage's city manager, and Jim DeCapua, executive director of Mercer County Regional Council of Governments.
