Citing increases in insurance premiums, Mercer County Area Agency on Aging directors passed a motion Thursday that will require employees to pay for a portion of their health-care premiums.

The board suggested that the agency pay 75 percent of the increase plus the rate of the old premium, while employees pick up the other 25 percent of the increase.

The new plan will be effective July 1. Budgeted money will cover the increases through June 30.
