A walkway collapse at Sharon Speedway Friday that injured 10 people, none seriously, appears to have been the result of "a structural failure," according to a report issued Monday by Hartford Fire Chief Benjamin A. Anspach.

The report, which Anspach said completed the investigation into the collapse, noted the "age of the facility and the added weight of fans trying to make a rapid exit due to the rain seems to have enhanced the situation."

A track spokeswoman said Monday night she wasn't aware a report had been released regarding the completion of the investigation and wouldn't comment.
