The interchange at state Route 208 and Interstate 79 is looking for a few good plants and a green thumb or two. Springfield Township supervisors were notified by PennDOT that the infield areas of the four ramps at the interchange are open to gardeners or landscapers to plant house flowers and other plants, as seen on other such areas of I-79 and other interstate interchanges. According to a letter sent to the township, once a business or organization commits to landscaping, planting and the maintenance of that area for two years, PennDOT would do a "rough" cleaning out of some of the trees and plants already there that would not fit in with the landscaping plans. The business or organization making the two-year commitment with PennDOT would also have permission to put in a small sign with the group's name on it.
