Contractors have come up with another plan to fix the Oakland Avenue viaduct in Sharon. The pedestals that hold the bridge supports are not level with one another, resulting in unaligned steel beams. Carmen Paliotta Construction Inc. of South Park, Pa., has submitted a new plan to correct the problem and that plan has been reviewed by Mercer County engineers, said county bridge engineer Mark Miller. The plan entails loosening bolts, moving the frames into the proper alignment, retightening the bolts and then replacing each of the retightened bolts one at a time, Miller said. |
