A dispute between the Springfield Township Volunteer Fire Department and township supervisors was officially settled Tuesday evening when firefighters unanimously approved a one-year contract. Supervisors approved the contract 2-1 Monday.

"It remains the same as the last year contract," said James Schepp, fire department president. "There was 15 of us at the meeting and we unanimously voted for it," Schepp said, adding that the department has 20 to 25 active members and a total of about 45.
