Brass Taxi gets the Buhl Farm park, Hermitage, series of summer concerts going in a jazzy way. The brass-driven band will play at 6 p.m. June 15 in the performing arts shelter. An old favorite, the Ed Telega Orchestra will play at 6 p.m. June 22. Also booked: » Kalico, 6 p.m. June 29. » Mercer Community Band, 6 p.m. July 6. » A reunion of the Vara-Tones, 5 p.m. July 13. » The Wrangler Band, 6 p.m. July 20. » The Fun Bunch with vocalist Jim Macom, 6 p.m. July 27. » Dante DiThomas Orchestra, 6 p.m. Aug. 10. » Fred Boles Quintet, 6 p.m. Aug. 17. » Carmen Mico Orchestra, 6 p.m. Aug. 24. All concerts are free. A show also will be held at 6 p.m. Aug. 3, but no one is booked, yet. Mercer Community Band and Aug. 3 concerts will be moved to Sharon High School auditorium in the case of inclement weather. Jerry Sharell will return after a one-year break for a concert in the Casino to raise money for the park's youth programs. The concert at 8 p.m. Sept. 6 will be called "Jerry Sharell and Strings." Tickets will go on sale later. |
