A formal complaint has been filed in Mercer County Common Pleas Court blaming Greenville borough, the school district and Greenville Area Leisure Services Association for the death of 17-year-old Erin Scullin of Adamsville.

The wrongful death lawsuit, filed April 9 by Erin's mother Marguerite, follows an intent-to-file suit filed more than a year ago.

Erin died May 30, 2000, three days after the diving board she was cleaning gave way and she fell 14 feet into an empty Greenville Memorial Swimming Pool. An employee of GALSA, Erin was working to help get the Riverside Park pool ready for the summer.
