spots in the region By Joe Pinchot Herald Staff Writer
The Sept. 11 terrorist attacks wrecked the travel industry, but sales of George and Michele Zavatsky's travel books have remained steady. Mrs. Zavatsky said that shows people are backing off on trips to Walt Disney World and other glitzy, expensive destinations and looking for tourist spots closer to home. The Zavatskys, of suburban Columbus, Ohio, believe they can help families find those closer locations with their books, including "Kids Love Pennsylvania" and "Kids Love Ohio." Signing books recently at Barnes and Noble Booksellers in Boardman, Ohio, Mrs. Zavatsky said there are probably 400 tourist sites listed in her books within two hours' drive of there. |
