Graduating Sharon High senior Sean Genis can add yet another accolade to his already impressive list of high school accomplishments: He has been named a National Merit Scholar. National Merit Scholars receive $2,500 to use at the college of their choice. Because Sean is planning to attend the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., he won't get the money. Instead, he'll receive a certificate from the program that honors the best and brightest of America's graduating seniors. Besides his National Merit distinction, Sean is a member of Sharon High School's National Honor Society, received the Bausch and Lomb Science Award, the U.S. Marine Corps Semper Fidelis Award for musical excellence and is an Advanced Placement scholar with distinctions. |
