Two local leaders and local law enforcement received awards last week during the Pennsylvania Weed and Seed Communities That Care awards dinner and conference in Hershey.

The "Bringing It All Together" conference, held Thursday at Hershey Lodge and Convention Center, brought individual category awards for Farrell Mayor William A. Morocco Sr. and Tall Team Coordinator Marcia Brown.

Morocco received the Public Official of the Year award for Sharon/Farrell Weed and Seed, which requires candidates be a key leader, such as a governmental official, elected or appointed, who is a dedicated proponent of Weed and Seed.

Ms. Brown received the Tall Team Coordinator of the Year award, which requires candidates be a true catalyst for Weed and Seed.
