By Kristen Garrett Herald Staff Writer Sharon police asked the Mercer County District Attorney's Office to help investigate an arrest that left a suspect hospitalized in serious condition and two patrolmen injured and off duty. At 3:23 a.m. Wednesday, Police Chief Thomas Burke said a patrolman saw a man slumped over the wheel of his car in the 200 block of Mesabi Street. When the patrolman talked to the man, he gave a false name, Burke said. Another patrolman arrived and when police attempted to arrest the man for public drunkenness, he fought with them, Burke said. |
