Sharpsville's K-9 officer Tom Borton has been suspended with pay, Mayor Ken Robertson said Thursday.

"We suspended officer Tom Borton on June 6, pending an outcome of an investigation being conducted by the Mercer County District Attorney's Office," Robertson said, adding he was not permitted to comment on the reason for the suspension because it is a personnel issue.

District Attorney James P. Epstein also confirmed Borton's suspension.
