Patients at Sharon Regional Health System who have chronic heart failure may be able to reap the benefits of a new program. ADHERE is a national registry of chronic heart failure patients. The benefit comes to those who are taking care of the patient and it translates to better care for that patient, Dr. Sergio Segarra said. The registry gathers data about chronic heart failure patients and practices from the participating hospitals. "Then the hospitals can compare what they're doing for their patients and see which hospitals have the best practices and the lowest mortality and morbidity rates," Segarra said. |
