Small progress reported in contract talks

Talks toward a contract for 470 workers at Wheatland Tube Co. are ongoing.

Representatives from United Steelworkers Local 1660 and management sat down Monday and made what Bill Kerins, vice president of operations for the steelmaker, said was "a small amount of progress."

Michael Munger, Local 1660's president, agreed.
