Cost drops

Last month the Mercer County Housing Authority board awarded contracts for exterior modernization at Sharpsville Gardens.

The contracts took the board $212,723 over its budget, even after it lowered costs by removing several items from the original concept.

But the board has managed to reduce its costs by $149,423, said Dewitt Boosel, authority executive director.
