City officials weeding out
complaints about high grass

Susan Crowley has been trying to get the grass and weeds on a neighboring property cut for three years.

The pollen from the weeds -- some of which are more than 5 feet tall -- is so intense that her teenage daughter, Amanda, who has severe allergies, sometimes has to stay inside, said the resident of 805 Brandywine Drive.

She said owner Raffaele Branca promised last year to cut the yard on the vacant property, but didn't.

"He does not follow through," Mrs. Crowley told Hermitage commissioners Thursday.

"You got that right," agreed Commissioner Sylvia Stull.

A message left for Branca was not returned.
