A special book deserves special treatment. And that's exactly what Allison Wilson expected to happen Friday at Jerry Stigliano's BookSource in Hermitage, where more than 100 Harry Potter fanatics were on hand to buy the newest installment in the boy wizard's book series.

While it wasn't exactly Hogwart's School for Witchcraft and Wizardry or Diagon Alley, Allison was thrilled just the same.

"I think it's so cool," said Allison, 14, of Sharon. "I'm so excited because I've really never been to one of these parties before and I've never gone at midnight for a book. I've gone at midnight for movies and stuff, but nothing like this. So I'm really excited."

The BookSource hosted a party from 9 p.m. to midnight, the "witching hour" when the store opened its registers for the sale of the wildly popular fifth book in the J.K. Rowling-authored series, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix."

Today was the first day the book was officially allowed to be sold worldwide and the BookSource got a jump on the competition in Mercer County with its own form of "Midnight Madness."
