No charges yet
in fatal hit, run

Charges have yet to be filed in a deadly hit-and-run accident that claimed the life of a 14-year-old Hubbard teen in April.

Hubbard High School student Kyrsten Studer and five other girls were walking at 7:20 p.m. April 4 along state Route 304 to a bowling alley when the accident occurred.

The Herald reported April 9 that police said someone driving a reddish car swerved off state Route 304 in the township and ran into the group of girls, killing Krysten and injuring the other five.

Attorney David Toepfer, an assistant Trumbull County prosecutor, didn't want to say much Friday afternoon, but did offer that there "is a pending investigation." "All I can say right now is that the investigators and myself are moving forward on it," he said.

The Herald reported that township police assisted the highway patrol in finding the suspected vehicle, which was located at Stoneybrook mobile home park on Lewis-Seifert Road, just hours after the accident.
