of their labor By Amanda Smith-Teutsch Herald Staff Writer
Kneeling in the dirt, 8-year-old Molly Bogolin pushed aside the leaves of the strawberry plants and looked for the perfect berry. Next to her, her older sister Amy, 11, and her grandma Joann Bogolin of Hermitage busily picked berries as well, filling their baskets with round, red, juicy berries. "Fresh-picked strawberries are always better than store-bought," Mrs. Bogolin said. Molly agreed, taking a second away from her picking to munch into a particularly juicy berry she'd just found at Pete's Berry Farm in Clark, red juices running down her chin and staining her small fingers. The Bogolin family just drove in from their home in New York for Mrs. Bogolin's birthday. Part of the festivities include a baseball game in Pittsburgh today, but the family still needed something to do Saturday afternoon. |
