Good weather signals the return of motorcycles and scooters to the road. But electric scooters? Deon Brodie, 17, of Farrell buckled and bought an electric scooter two weeks ago after he saw someone else joyriding on one nearly a month ago. People who ride them on a regular basis say e-scooters are a reliable way of travel without the worry of insurance and fuel costs. "I said 'Oh, I've got to get one,' " Deon said, after seeing one for the first time. Most cost between $300 to $400. Deon's yellow powered scooter travels up to 20 miles an hour and, after a fully- charged battery, rides all day long. |
