Rhema Christian Academy closing

By Patrecka F. Adams
Herald Staff Writer

Principal Mick Lohrenz said saying goodbye to Rhema Christian Academy students was hard, especially after getting to know some of them so well over the years.

"This is really difficult for everyone," he said quietly Wednesday. "It's very disappointing and difficult for all of us.

Lohrenz said letters were sent to parents dated June 19, which explained why the New Wilmington-area school will close its doors June 30, forcing about 84 students and their families to look elsewhere for Christian education.

Lohrenz said the school board decided June 17 to close the school due to "lack of funds because enrollment was way off."
